The Redmond Rockchucks Mountain Bike Team welcomes middle and high school riders of all skill levels. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and having fun on the trails while building confidence and lifelong cycling skills.

What is NICA?
The Redmond Composite MTB Team is part of the Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League, a member of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
NICA is a nationwide youth mountain biking organization whose mission is to build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through cycling. Through professionally organized programs, trained coaches, and a focus on safety, NICA provides opportunities for student-athletes of all ability levels to ride, learn, grow, and have fun.
Whether a rider wants to race competitively or simply enjoy riding trails with friends, NICA welcomes all skill levels and encourages lifelong participation in cycling.
The Redmond Rockchucks Experience
The Redmond Rockchucks Mountain Bike Team brings together riders from across the Redmond area to learn skills, ride trails, and compete in the Oregon NICA league.
Our program focuses on building confident riders through skill development, teamwork, and positive coaching. Riders of all ability levels are welcome—from beginners who are new to mountain biking to experienced racers looking to improve.


Where & When
Team practices take place during the summer and fall as we prepare for the Oregon NICA race season.
Typical practice schedule:
Tuesdays — 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Skills practice and trail riding
Thursdays — 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Team rides and fitness training
Primary trail locations include Central Oregon trail systems such as Maston, Phil’s Trail Complex, and the Redmond Radlands trail network.
Practice locations may vary depending on trail conditions and race preparation.

Meet the Coaches
Our coaching staff is made up of trained NICA coaches and local volunteers who are passionate about youth cycling. All coaches complete NICA’s training program, which focuses on rider safety, skill development, and creating a positive team culture. More coach information will be added as the team grows.
